Detailed Application Instructions

Step 1: Cutting the Carrier Tapes

Use the appropriate cutting tool (GSMTL20, GSMTL30, or GSMTL40) to make precise, straight cuts on the carrier tapes. Clean, accurate cutting is essential for creating reliable joints.

Step 2: Preparing the Splice Clip

Position the splice clip with teeth facing upward on the placement pins of the splice tool. Proper clip placement ensures secure connections between carrier tapes.

Step 3: Positioning the Carrier Tapes

Center both carrier tapes on the placement pins with cover tape facing upward. Secure the tapes using the clamps on the splice tool. Precise alignment is critical for seamless joints.

Step 4: Crimping the Handle

Carefully crimp the handle of the splice tool to connect the carrier tapes. Apply firm, controlled pressure to ensure tapes are firmly joined without damaging components.

Step 5: Removing the Release Liner

Gently remove the release liner from the splice tape to expose the adhesive surface. Handle carefully to prevent contamination or damage to the adhesive.

Step 6: Applying the Splice Tape

Apply a single strip of splice tape to the cover tape, pressing firmly to secure the joint. Ensure even application without wrinkles for optimal splice reliability.
